GRADE - WISE

Grade 5 & 6 (Boys)

Logo Designing Competition was conducted on January 10th. This competition was an opportunity for students to develop their imagination, creativity and innovation.

Winter Carnival program with the theme titled ‘the Grand Indiano Arab Fiesta’ was held on January 31st at the school lawn. Through this program, students celebrated the heritage and culture of India and UAE. It helped to inculcate among them the skills of organization, collaboration, entrepreneurship and social responsibility.

Grade 9 & 10 (Girls)

Ek Hridaya Ho Bharat Janani program was conducted on January 8th. The Department of Hindi organized a spectacular show with a variety of programs in pure Hindi. It was an audio-visual treat with poetry, dance, drama, tableau and group singing. It helped students to develop a love for the Hindi language and honoured it as the official language of India.

Grade 9 (Boys)

Happiness Week was held from January 7th to 11th. The objective of this activity was to cultivate positive emotions like contentment, enthusiasm and enjoyment among students while learning as such positive emotions have been linked to the acquisition of various skills that foster academic success. Beats n Feed, Cook Off, DJ 2018 and Sweat & Fun activities were included. They thoroughly enjoyed the week and it increased the happiness quotient & well-being of the section.

Volunteer in Dubai was organised on January 17th. This program aimed to encourage students to participate in community service and to contribute in the march of humanitarian work. They volunteered at Al Marmoom Initiative, Dubai. It provided them a charitable equestrian education where special need children learn to ride, drive and work on the ground with horses. It helped to improve balance, increase muscle strength and increase their confidence & independence. They also have a Green house which provided special needs adults vocational and practical classes on the growing of food & flower crops. Our volunteers also visited the farm and participated in various activities. It was an opportunity for them to practice and develop their social skills, make new friends, connect to the community and a sense of purpose & accomplishment. They returned happy and contented.

Grade 11 (Boys)

Entrepreunership Fair was held on January 18th. Quiz, videos on entrepreneurs, debate on the topic employment vs. entrepreneurs, live interview with an entrepreneur; gaming and counter sales were included in the events. Students participated with a lot of enthusiasm. It was a good hands on learning experience for them.

PROGRAM - WISE

Republic Day was celebrated on January 26th. The objective of this day was to instill in students the pride in their national heritage and acquaint them with the rich & diverse culture of their motherland. It was also an opportunity for them to celebrate this day with great fervor and enthusiasm. They showcased the cultural diversity of India and put a spectacular show & conducted themselves in a disciplined and organised manner. Their rigorous practice and hard work culminated in a grand success.

CAREER CENTRE

Future Doctors Roadshow of the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) Bahrain was conducted on January 23rd at Media Rotana Hotel for grade 12 Science with Biology. Students were engaged in interactive workshops comprising of basic medical sciences, clinical skills and communication sessions. It was an opportunity for them to get hands on experience on some medical procedure.

International Education Show featuring India Universities / Colleges was held on January 24th & 25th for grade 11 boys and girls respectively at Expo Centre Sharjah. This show was an opportunity for students to meet university representatives and be informed about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline application.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

Student Talks on the topics ‘Growing up Smart’ and ‘Positive Personality’ were conducted on January 8th & 28th for grade 5 boys and grade 7 girls & boys respectively. These talks helped grade 5 students in adjusting to changes as they grow and grade 7 students in shaping their personality in a positive manner.

Student Talks on the topics ‘Effective Communication’, ‘Adding Value to your Profile’ and ‘Self –awareness & Managing your Emotions’ were held on January 15th, 28th & 30th for grade 6 girls and grades 8 & 9 boys respectively. Through these talks grade 6 girls learnt how to improve their communication skills, grade 8 boys were made aware of changing emotions & strategy and how to manage them and grade 9 boys understood the importance of adding value to their profile.

Student Talks on the topic ‘College Readiness – Part 3’ were conducted during this month for grade 11. These talks helped students know how to get started for college search and admissions.

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Workshops for Senior School Teachers were conducted on January 12th and for Middle School Teachers on January 13th in the subject of Physical Education. During these workshops sixteen topics were discussed including physical fitness & wellness, postures, motor development, exercise guidelines and more. A special presentation on CBSE Competitive Sports Program was also explained.

A Workshop for Secondary School Teachers in the subject of Science was held on January 19th. This workshop helped teachers to improve the learning – teaching exercise in the subject of Science.

A Workshop for Middle Level School Leaders on the topic ‘Leadership’ was held on January 20th for Supervisors, Headmasters and Headmistress. This workshop aimed at instilling advanced and newer leadership skills.

CPD program on E-Learning – “Destination Success” and “Use of Interactive White Boards” was organised from January 24th till 30th. These trainings helped our teachers to understand the collaborative tool needed. They were trained in the effective use of the eLearning modules along with the eLearning equipment that is made available in the classroom. It also helped us to determine the level and effectiveness of some of our teachers in using ‘Interactive White Boards’.
