GRADE-WISE

Grade 5 & 6 (Girls)

Calligraphy Competition will be conducted on May 17th. This competition will help students to enhance their writing skills and bring to light their creative ability. They will be provided a platform to showcase their creativity and for the teachers to recognize & utilize this talent in any future section activities.

Creative / Poetry Writing competition will be held on May 28th. This competition will help students identify their creative caliber and hone on their writing abilities which can in future lead to them being writers or poets. The identification of their inner creative talents will help them shine in the field of art and literature. They will be able to correlate and employ literary devices learnt in class to create their masterpieces.

Grade 5 & 6 (Boys)

Career Day will be held on May 16th & 17th. The objective of this day is to help students get a better understanding about future career options. It will also help to encourage parents to enlighten young minds about their professions.

Story Writing Competition (English & Hindi) will be conducted on May 22nd. This day will be an opportunity for students to showcase their writing skills and creativity.

Grade 7 & 8 (Boys)

A Special Assembly titled Ramadan scheduled on May 14th will now be conducted on May 21st (due to holiday announced). This assembly will create awareness among students on Islamic culture and values. A speech on importance of Ramadan will also be included.

Grade 9 (Boys)

Ramadan Meal Distribution will be organised on May 27th. The objective of this activity is to provide food to poor and needy, especially when it is needed the most (during the holy month of Ramadan). Students will collect foodstuff packets from the section and pack them and donate it to a Labour Camp.

Grade 9 & 10 (Boys)

Ramadan Assembly (Dept. of Arabic & Islamic Studies) will be conducted on May 16th. Through this assembly, students will understand the norms followed during the holy month of Ramadan. It will help to inculcate among them the value of tolerance and secularism. It will also be an opportunity to create a bond of love and kinship with everyone irrespective of religion.

International Day of Biological Diversity will be held on May 22nd. Students will learn that biodiversity protect and restore native vegetation & terrestrial ecosystems. It also protects and restores freshwater ecosystems, marine and estuarine ecosystems. Biology Department will conduct an inter-class placard making competition. It will help to educate them about the International Day for Biological Diversity 2018.

World No Tobacco Day will be held on May 31st. This day will create awareness among students on all the problems and health complications caused by the tobacco chewing or smoking and to prevent health hazards. Students will attempt to make the whole world free of tobacco & have healthy world of people. English Department Teachers will conduct a poster making inter-class competition.

Grade 11 & 12 (Girls)

Investiture Ceremony will be conducted during this month (date to be decided). The purpose of this ceremony is to prepare students to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

Interest Test will be conducted on May 22nd for grade 8 girls and on May 23rd for grade 8 boys. This test aim to ascertain the Interest Areas of students through standardized tests. Resource person from India will conduct the assessment followed by a guidance session.

Personality Test will be held on May 22nd for grade 9 girls and on May 23rd for grade 9 boys. This test aim to ascertain the personality traits of students through standardized tests. Resource person from India will conduct the assessment followed by a guidance session.

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

CPD Program on E-Learning – “Destination Success” and “Use of Interactive White Boards” will be held from May 16th till 31st (tentative) for teachers respectively. This program will help teachers to understand all collaborative tools needed. It will also help to determine their level and effectiveness in using the interactive white boards.

Happy Healthy Self Information Sharing Session will be held on May 24th for selected Counsellors at Canadian University Dubai. This session aim to provide a platform where we can gain from each other’s knowledge and experience in helping students generate positive energy, work towards a positive mindset & subsequently elevate their overall sense of wellbeing, which is proven to be a significant component of students’ success.
