Grade 5 & 6
U.A.E. National Day Celebration will be held on December 4th for boys and on December 7th for girls. This celebration will help to instill among students the feel of nationalism towards the country, to show camaraderie towards the land besides our motherland, to bring oneness among them of different community and to inculcate among them the spirit of the Union of UAE. Class decorations will also be included. Boys’ students will be engaged in thematic assembly.
Periodic Test Two will be conducted from December 7th to 14th. This test will help students & teachers to monitor and improve their teaching – learning. It will also help to assess their extent in achieving the academic objectives and to evaluate their achievement in each subject.
Christmas Celebration will be held on December 21st. The objective of this celebration for students is to bring the spirit of Christmas, of peace, joy and harmony. It will also help to inculcate among them the value of love & brotherhood and to encourage their creativity, innovation & appreciation of various cultures & traditions. Girls will be engaged in Carol singing & section decoration and boys will participate in design a Christmas tree competition.
Grades 5 to 8 Girls
Cinema for a Cause will be organised on December 6th for grade 5 & 6 and on December 13th for grade 7 & 8. The purpose of this program for students is to provide value based entertainment which will instill certain ethics within them. It will also be an opportunity to imbibe within the reason or purpose of the day and to inculcate among them the feeling of sharing & caring for others in the community. The money given by students will be used for a cause dear to the school. Funds will be used to meet the educational and other needs of the tribal girls (Jharkhand). IHS supports the Dubai Autism Centre, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to this Centre.
Grade 5 & 6 Girls
Logo Competition on the topic ‘Age relevant and related to present day issues’ will be conducted on December 19th. Through this inter-class competition, students will utilize their talents and spruce up the section. It will also help to enhance their creative ability. A platform will be provided to showcase their aesthetic ability.
Grade 7 & 8 (Girls)
Thematic Assembly titled ‘UAE National Day’ will be conducted on December 4th. Through this assembly, students will highlight the importance & history of this day and bring out a sense of oneness among them.
UAE National Day Celebration will be held on December 7th. The objective of this celebration for students is to bring out the spirit of oneness with UAE through a cultural activity.
Grade 9 & 10 (Girls)
Ethnic Day (Year End Festivities) will be held on December 21st. Through this day, students will mark the end of the year on a positive and delightful note.
Grade 10 (Girls)
Periodic Test 3 will be conducted from December 7th to 17th. The objective of this test is to measure students’ academic progress & attainment. The analysis of the student’s performance will reflect on the effectiveness of the teaching. Effective feedback will be made available for teachers and taught.
Grade 9 (Boys)
International Anti-Corruption Day will be held on December 6th. During this day, Social Science Department will conduct a thematic assembly highlighting the problems & threats posed by corruption to the stability & security of societies, undermining the values of democracy and jeopardizing sustainable development. It also aim to reaffirm our commitment to ending the deceit & dishonesty that threaten sustainable development of nations and our efforts to achieve peace & prosperity for all on a healthy planet.
Grade 9 & 10 (Boys)
Third Periodic Test will be conducted from December 7th till 14th for grade 9 and from December 7th till 17th for grade 10. Students will be tested on full syllabus as prescribed by CBSE. It will help to evaluate their academic performance of students. It will also bring out from the analysis the effectiveness of the teaching and the support given in the class.
Grade 10 (Boys)
Orientation for Stream Selection will be held on December 12th.The purpose of this orientation is to acquaint students with procedure for admission in Grade 11 and to empower & inform them to navigate their career course in the right direction. Session will cover: - Procedure for admission in Class XI, Cut off for various Streams & subject options available, Number of seats & mode of selection, School timings & academic session break up, Basic career counselling and Distribution of stream selection forms and submission format.
Grade 11 & 12 (Girls)
A Section Farewell will be conducted on December 20th. This program will be filled with enjoyment and an opportunity for grade 12 students to celebrate with friends, faculty & juniors. They will also remember all the most wonderful days they had spent and say goodbye to their final year. We will wish them a great successful career. Selection of the Student of the Year will also be included.
House Day will be held on December 21st. This day aim to give students an identity and sense of pride in a supportive, secure environment. The Houses provide for positive competition and a closer rapport among them. Competition among four houses on set of activities will be conducted.
Commerce Day will be held on December 21st. This day will create awareness among students about Commerce stream and make learning competitive & interesting. It will also help in making them aware of the role of team work, participation, presence of mind, coordination, direction, time management, effective communication and such other management principles.
Grade 12 (Girls)
Winter Classes (Need Based) will be conducted as per the timetable. The objective is to enhance students’ performance in Model 2 and CBSE’s Board Examination.
Grade 11 & 12 (Boys)
PTCS will be organised on December 13th for grade 11 and on December 20th for grade 12. This session will be an opportunity for teachers and parents to discuss student’s performance at school.
Annual Picnic will be organised on December 14th. Students will enjoy a one day outing to Ice Land Water Park, Ras Al Khaimah.
A Farewell to Grade 12 students will be conducted on December 19th. Through this program, students of grade 11 will give a farewell to their seniors as a good gesture.
MUN Club Conference will be held on December 22nd to 23rd. This extracurricular activity enable students to further hone their skills of efficient and effective research, public-speaking, diplomacy, negotiation, leadership & awareness of international affairs. The Model United Nations is the academic simulation of the UN in which students assume the roles of diplomats/ personalities of importance and relevance, attempting to reach resolutions to major and diverse world problems.
A Student Talk on the topic ‘Communication with Parents’ will be conducted on December 4th for grade 7 girls. During this talk, students will know the strategies and ways to communicate better with their parents.
A Student Talk on the topic ‘College Readiness Part 2’ will be held during this month for grade 11 boys. This talk will help students to know about the emerging careers and the latest trends.
21st Local Colleges Fair will be organised on December 8th for grades10 to 12. This fair will be an opportunity for students to meet the representatives of universities / colleges in UAE. They will know about their programs offered, admission requirements & procedure and fee structure.
Psychology Workshop by Middlesex University Dubai and Heriot-Watt University Dubai will be conducted on December 9th for grade 11 & 12 students with Psychology subject. This interactive session will help students to develop an understanding of Psychology being a research-oriented program. It will also help to modify the general misconception of Psychology being a field where the most required skill is listening.
India Education Fair will be organised on December 10th for grade 11 students. Through this fair, students will meet representatives of universities / colleges in India. They will be informed about programs offer, admission requirements & procedure and fee structure.
Accounting & Finance Workshop by Middlesex University Dubai will be held on December 16th for grade 11 & 12 students with Accounting & Finance subjects. This interactive session aim to give students an idea & finance framework and its applications in the real world.
General Guidance Session on careers will be held on December 18th for grade 10 students and parents. Registration for attendance is required in advance.
A Health Talk titled ‘Puberty’ will be conducted on December 10th for grade 5 & 6 girls. The objective of this talk is to educate students about the physical and hormonal changes occurring in the body during adolescence. It also aims to increase awareness amongst them regarding puberty and to dispel the related misconceptions.
A Health Talk titled ‘Hand Hygiene’ will be held on December 10th for grade 5 & 6 boys. This talk will help to educate students about the importance of maintaining proper hand hygiene and its role in preventing various infections & illnesses. They will also learn the correct hand washing technique through an engaging audio visual presentation.
CPD Program on E-Learning – “Destination Success” and “Use of Interactive White Boards” will be held on December 6th, 7th, 13th & 14th for teachers respectively. This program will help teachers to understand all collaborative tools needed. It will also help to determine their level and effectiveness in using the interactive white boards.
A Workshop will be conducted for senior secondary school teachers on December 8th in the subject of Mathematics. This workshop will help to improve ‘Question Paper Setting’ skills. They will also be trained in handling ‘HOTS’ questions. These skills will help improve our students’ performance at the Board exams.
Training Program titled ‘Use of Technology in Teaching Mathematics’ will be held on December 9th for middle school teachers by the resource person from India. The objective is to increase the use of technology in teaching.
Training Program titled ‘Responsive Design with HTML and CSS’ by the resource person from India will be conducted on November 16th for middle school teachers in the subject of Computer Science. This program will help teachers to understand these topics in a professional way and learn to teach in a simplified method.
Training Programs titled ‘Android App Development’ will be conducted on December 13th & 14th and ‘Ethical Hacking’ will be held on December 17th & 18th by a resource person from India for grade 11 & 12 students.
Our Basketball team will compete in the CBSE National Basketball Championship 2017 on December 1st & 3rd at JBM Global School, Noida, UP, India. It will help students in their physical, social, moral and psychological development.
Inter-Class Sports Competition will be conducted from December 5th to 14th for grade 9 & 10 boys. Students will be engaged in various tournaments like Cricket, Football and Basketball where classes will compete with each other and display their sporting skills. It will also be an opportunity to ensure that every pupil can maximize their sporting potential and find a sport that they can enjoy & participate in and inculcate values of sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork and more.
